Trees on the Land is a cross-border initiative working to establish young native trees across the 32 counties of the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.

Trees on the Land is funded by a combination of donations from the general public, contributions from landowners and sponsorship from local businesses.  The initiative is run by a small team of professionals and a large network of volunteers who work to co-ordinate the planting projects each season.

Trees on the Land aims to deliver a strong, practical project which can run consistent annual schemes for farmers and other landowners to access quality trees for planting in all economic climates.

The majority of deliveries will be sent out during January, February and March 2024. You will be notified by email well in advance of your order being sent out for delivery.

Planting & Managing Your Trees

You will need to plant the trees yourself with help from friends, family and others as appropriate to the planting project. You can employ a local contractor to plant your trees if you wish.

All trees are native species grown in Ireland from certified Irish provenance seed. Trees are small bare-rooted whips and between 30 cm and one metre tall depending on species. The majority of trees are 40-60 cm in height.
